HYDROMETER TEMPERATURE CORRECTION CALCULATOR

This calculator corrects hydrometer readings based on sample temperature. Most hydrometers are calibrated at 20°C, so readings taken at different temperatures need adjustment to ensure accurate specific gravity measurements.

Instructions:

  1. Take your hydrometer reading and note the specific gravity (e.g., 1.050)
  2. Measure your sample temperature in Celsius
  3. Enter the Hydrometer Measurement in the first field
  4. Enter the Sample Temperature in the second field
  5. The Corrected Measurement will automatically calculate and display the temperature-adjusted specific gravity

Why it matters: Temperature affects liquid density, so a reading taken at 25°C will differ from the same sample at 20°C. This calculator ensures your gravity readings are accurate regardless of sample temperature, helping you track fermentation progress and calculate ABV correctly.
