The ATF German Wheat Beer (Weissbier) is a pale and refreshing traditional style German wheat beer. It has a fluffy bready mouthfeel with a dry finish, but what really sets apart is the distinctive banana and clove character imparted by the yeast.
It should pour a pale straw colour, relatively cloudy (although this may clear after a long period of cold conditioning), with a rich and creamy long lasting head.
A great summer beer that pairs well with seafood.
Yeast is not included in the kit. We recommend using Mangrove Jack's Bavarian Wheat Yeast, or you could also try Fermentis Safale WB-06 (WB-06 favours phenol production over esters so the finished beer will have more clove character and less banana). If you prefer a wheat beer with less esters and phenols (banana and clove) you could try Lallemand's Munich Wheat Beer Yeast.
Selecting the yeast from the dropdown box above will add one packet to your cart. Please click the + symbol beside the amount to increase this to the recommended quantity for the batch size.
