Black Rock Classic Wheat is a golden wheat beer with a fruity flavour. This refreshing, lively beer has been brewed with 38% New Zealand Gladfield wheat and 62% MaltEurop pilsner malt. NZ Green Bullet hops are added at the boil to provide a low bitterness to this concentrated brewery wort. Brew with 1kg Black Rock Liquid Brewing Sugar (or 1kg other sugar) for a classic Wheat beer finish. For more body and colour use 1.7kg Black Rock Wheat unhopped malt extract instead of sugar.

This Classic Wheat pours a pale golden colour with an SRM of 3, offering a light and crisp malt profile. The blend of MaltEurop Lager and Gladfield Wheat malt provides a smooth, refreshing body with a subtle sweetness and fruity notes. The bitterness from NZ Hops Green Bullet™ is mild, contributing to a balanced finish with an IBU of 10. At 4.5% ABV, this Wheat beer is both sessionable and thirst-quenching, making it perfect for any occasion.

For best results, brew Black Rock Classic Wheat with Black Rock Unhopped Wheat (or a second can of Black Rock Classic Wheat to boost bitterness) & an 11.5g sachet of Fermentis Yeast: SafAle™ WB-06.

For a Hoegarden style, try adding a small amount of orange essence and freshly crushed coriander seeds.

Also goes well with fruit concentrates (raspberry, boysenberry, citrus or stone fruit).

Suggested hop additions:

Belgian Witbier: use Saaz and/or Styrian Goldings for a mild, herbal, and slightly spicy aroma.

American Wheat: use Cascade and/or Centennial for a citrusy and floral character.

Hefeweizen: use Hallertau Mittelfrüh and/or Tettnang for a traditional, mild bitterness with floral and herbal notes.

Fruit Wheat Beer: use Citra®, Amarillo®, and/or Mosaic® for a burst of tropical and citrus fruit flavours.

Spiced Wheat Beer: use Saaz and/or Perle for a subtle spicy and herbal character.
