Black Rock Crafted Oatmeal Stout is brewed to deliver a rich and creamy stout experience with a deep, dark colour. NZ Green Bullet hops are added at the boil to provide a moderate bitterness, perfectly balancing the robust malt profile.

This Crafted Oatmeal Stout pours a deep, dark colour with an SRM of 50, offering a complex and rich malt profile. The blend of 37% MaltEurop Ale, 36% MaltEurop Lager, 8% Harraways rolled oats, 4% Gladfield Dark Chocolate, 4% Gladfield Light Chocolate, 4% Gladfield Dark Crystal, 4% Gladfield Eclipse Wheat, and 3% Gladfield Roast Barley malts provides a full-bodied and smooth texture with notes of chocolate, coffee, and caramel. The bitterness from NZ Hops Green Bullet™ is moderate, contributing to a balanced finish with an IBU of 30. At 4.5% ABV, this Oatmeal Stout is both satisfying and sessionable.

Costly, time-consuming all-grain processes are not necessary to create quality craft wort at home. Discerning home brewers are always looking to improve their brewing techniques and beer quality. With this in mind, the master brewers at Black Rock have expertly brewed the highest quality fresh wort in a state-of-the-art Krones brewery, using only the finest fresh NZ malt before gently evaporating to 80 brix for your convenience.

For best results, brew Black Rock Crafted Oatmeal Stout with Black Rock Unhopped Amber or Dark (or a second can of Black Rock Crafted Oatmeal Stout to boost bitterness) & an 11.5g sachet of Fermentis Yeast: SafAle™ S-04.

For a craftier option, try 50-200g of dry hop at day 6 of fermentation.

Suggested hop additions:

Classic Stout: Use East Kent Goldings and/or Fuggle for a traditional earthy and floral aroma.

American Stout: Use Cascade and/or Centennial for a bold citrus and floral character.

Chocolate Stout: Use Willamette and/or Tettnang for a smooth and subtle chocolate note.

Coffee Stout: Use Northern Brewer and/or Columbus for a rich coffee and earthy character.
