Control your fermentation temperature accurately, every time!

Temperature control is one of the most crucial elements for producing a good quality beer. It needs to be regulated and stable throughout the whole fermentation process to ensure the yeast doesn't get stressed and ferments correctly to get the right flavour profile.
With the ability to individually power and control the temperature of up to four Grainfather Conical Fermenters, each with their own fermenting schedules, the Grainfather Glycol Chiller is the perfect addition to ensure superior fermenting results.

Design:
With a sleek and compact design, that still accommodates our full array of features, the Glycol Chiller maintains the Grainfather’s principle of providing quality home brewing equipment, that deliver’s craft brewery like results, with a small footprint.
With the addition of the Glycol Chiller, your system is operating at the ultimate level and you are even able to cold crash and lager down to 4-6ºC (39-43°F). The Glycol Chiller connects to a hidden cooling sleeve, located in between the two stainless steel walls of the Conical Fermenter. Your desired temperature is dialed into the digital temperature controller on the Conical Fermenter, the liquid then travels through this sleeve, cooling the stainless steel which in turn cools the beer in the fermenter. The cooling sleeve never comes into contact with the beer, is completely concealed and does not need cleaning or sanitising - a true innovation for a fermenter on this scale.

Features:

• Allows you to cold crash 23 L (6 US Gal) of wort to as low as 4-6ºC (39-43°F). Minimum temperature will vary based on external factors such as ambient room temperature, the number of fermenters connected and other environmental conditions.
• Cools and powers up to 4 Conical Fermenters at different temperatures and fermenting schedules.
• Includes propylene glycol to get you efficient cooling for your fermenter right away.

Note: The instructions for the Glycol Chiller will be attached to the outside of the shipping box. It is important that you retain these, do not throw them away and read them carefully before use to ensure no damage occurs to the unit. If these for any reason are not included with your purchase, we highly recommend you download a new copy via the instructions tab on this page and read them carefully.

A bored silicone bung for the Grainfather GF30 and SF70.

Measures approximately 41mm across the top, tapering to approximately 35mm across the bottom.

Ferment like never before! The Grainfather GF30 gives the brewer professional fermentation control, just like the commercial breweries. Fermentation is arguably the most important part of producing a good quality beer. A good fermentation environment starts with a clean and sterile fermenter, has a consistent controlled temperature base and exposure to oxygen is minimised. The Grainfather Conical Fermenter provides you with a modular system for all of this and more!

FEATURES:

Basic Cooling Pump Kit

The Cooling Pump Kit allows users of the Grainfather Conical Fermenter to control the fermentation temperature with cold water by pumping it through the double walled insulated interior.

Wireless Connectivity

The Conical Fermenter Pro comes with a built-in controller with wireless connectivity and digital display. This means you can connect the controller to the internet and the Grainfather App and track fermentation with automatic alerts and notifications from wherever have an internet connection.

Double Walled

A stainless steel double walled skin is filled with a thick layer of polyurethane foam for insulation. This is what keeps the wort at a constant stable temperature with minimal influence from any external environmental temperature changes, providing insulation for your fermentation that a standard jacket cannot achieve.

Integrated Gentle Heating

In the cavity of the fermenter between the outer body and cone sits a 30 Watt, 12V heating element. Unlike standard heating elements/sources that directly heat the liquid, this heat source is designed to heat the environment in between the walls of the fermenter, which in turn heats the liquid. It is similar to controlling the temperature in a temperature controlled room. The fermenter acts as an artificial environment which can be heated, meaning the temperature is raised in an even and controlled manner which is much better for the yeast.

Integrated Cooling Sleeve

In between the two stainless steel walls sits a cooling sleeve (also made of stainless steel). This cooling sleeve is welded onto the inner wall of the fermenter and can be hooked up to the additionally purchased Glycol Chiller. Temperature is dialed into the Temperature Controller and as the cooling liquid travels through this sleeve, it cools the stainless steel which in turn evenly cools the beer in the fermenter. The cooling sleeve never comes into contact with the beer, it is completely concealed, built into the fermenter and never needs cleaning or sanitising - a true innovation for a fermenter of this scale.

Easy Access to the Interior for Hassle Free Cleaning

The Grainfather Conical Fermenter has a smooth interior with no additions such as cooling coils or additional sampling valves meaning it is easy to clean and minimises the risk of infection.

Golden Angle Conical

The conical shape of the fermenter is typical for professional breweries. Our conical has been designed with the 'Golden Angle' of 60º. This is the optimum angle for yeast and sediment to drop down to the bottom of the cone without getting stuck to the sides, allowing you to transfer from above the sediment line, resulting in clearer beer. The conical shape also allows for better mixing during fermentation due to the path of convention currents that it enables to occur.

Dual Valve Tap

Make the yeast dumping, transferring and sampling process more professional with this innovative all in one valve. Sampling and transferring is done through an inlet above the sediment line, allowing for clear, sediment free beer. Easily collect your yeast from below the sediment line with the same unique valve for re-cultivating and pitching. The innovative design of the valve allows for this dual functionality and less cleaning for you.

The Grain Mill Bamboo Mounting Board works great with the Electric Grain Mill. Mount the mill onto the board and place it over a bucket to catch your freshly crushed grain.

This heat insulation jacket is designed to be used with the Grainfather to keep heat contained in the boiler and maintain a constant temperature during your brew during cooler times of the year.

• Material - SBR Foam (11mm thickness).
• Designed for the Grainfather for heat insulation, especially in colder temperature areas.
• Easy to wipe clean, polyurethane outer layer, and machine washable.

This High Performance Cleaner is specially formulated to be used with the Grainfather. It removes hard to clean proteins from your Grainfather without the need for tedious scrubbing. Perfect for cleaning hard to reach places such as the counter flow wort chiller, pipes and pumps.

This is suitable for soft (copper) and hard (stainless steel) metals which not many other cleaners do. It is important you use this to clean your Grainfather as other cleaners may, over time, damage your system.

Instructions

• Add 2 Tbsp of cleaner to 15 L of water at 60°C to your Grainfather.
• Attach the counter flow wort chiller and recirculate the cleaner for 15 minutes.
• Remove the counter flow wort chiller and attach the recirculation pipe and recirculate for another 5 minutes.
• Rinse all surfaces that came in contact with the cleaner thoroughly with water.
• Gently scrub the inside of the boiler with a soft bristle brush to remove left over stains.
• Rinse and drain.

Perfect for small batch brewing, where you can test different beer styles or recipes and have more varieties of beer on the go.

The Micro Pipework is perfect for brewing 10 L beers, or standard batches of a lower ABV beer with a small grain bill. Use this pipework when you are brewing with 2 kg - 4 kg of grain.
