If you want a clean, pure, high-proof alcohol that serves as a neutral canvas, a reflux still is the way to go. Because the reflux process strips away the vast majority of flavour compounds and impurities, the resulting neutral spirit has very little character of its own. Critically, this means it requires no long-term aging (although it may soften a little with a short period of conditioning).
Once collected and diluted to drinking strength, it is ready to be transformed using spirit flavourings, fruits, or botanical infusions to create a wide range of products—such as gin, liqueurs, or flavoured vodkas. These can often be prepared and ready for consumption in just a few days or weeks, offering a much faster path to a drinkable product compared to the extended barrel-aging required for pot-distilled spirits.

The stainless steel Vented Collection Cup integrates into a modular distilling system, facilitating the secure connection of distillate collection tubing while allowing safe venting of pressure during the distillation process.

INSTRUCTIONS: Insert Collection Cup into your distilling system, ensure the vent weld is at least horizontal so that distillate flows out of the barbed tube, place a silicone gasket in the tri-clamp connection and secure with a tri-clamp.
CLEANING BEFORE USE: Rinse all components with fresh, clean water before the first distillation run.
CLEANING AFTER USE: If needed, thoroughly rinse the section to remove any wash or debris. Use a non-scented brewery cleaner and a soft brush to remove any stubborn debris.
CAUTION: After distillation is complete, the surface will be very hot. Allow to cool before handling.

The Create+ Voltage Controller allows for better control of cuts during a spirit run. Reducing the heat input using the voltage controller will allow for a slower controlled distillation; this makes it easier to distinguish between heads, hearts and tails. Especially useful during pot distillation or vapour infusion spirit runs.
It also allows for the ability to then increase heat input as the distillate output slows towards the end of a run. This is especially useful towards the end of a pot distillation run during the ‘tails’ of a spirit run.
