Brick Road Dark Malt makes great-tasting beer with Brick Road beer kits, or with Brick Road Hopped Malt extract cans, or in all-grain recipes when you want only the finest malt flavour.
This can will contribute a deep-amber colour up to 34 EBC in 23L, 1.021 gravity points and will replace approx. 1.75 kg of amber base grain in your wort. Dark Malt is particularly good for darker Ales, Stouts and Porters or when you need to add colour to your beer.
Brick Road Amber DME is suitable for all beer, but especially amber ales, red and brown ales. For the best-tasting all-malt beer, mix well with water and Brick Road beer kits or your favourite yeast and Brick Road Hopped Malt.

This Classic Dry Lager kit comes complete with Pacific lager yeast. This light-coloured, refreshing lager has a good malt sweetness balanced by a mild hop bitterness and a clean, dry finish to quench a real thirst.
For a Dry Lager add 1.5kg Brick Road Extra Light malt extract, or 1kg Brick Road Extra Light Dry malt extract or 1kg dextrose. For more flavour, dry-hop with 30g or more of NZ hops like Riwaka, Nelson Sauvin or Motueka for stone fruit and citrus flavours.

Enjoy this clear, fresh Extra Dry extra cold. Brick Road Dry Lager malt is already hopped to the perfect level. Just add 1 packet of dry enzyme to make this lager extra dry. Use the yeast under the lid, or if you can control the fermentation temperature at 12℃-18℃ add a packet of W-34/70, or if you can control the fermentation temperature at 12℃-20℃ add a packet of NovaLager to get the clean crisp flavour of a premium lager. Beautiful!

Instructions

Clean and sanitise fermenter, spoon, cup and jug.

Soften the malt can in hot water for about 5 minutes.

Pour 2 litres of boiling water into your 5L jug. Open the can and pour the contents into the jug.

Mix the concentrated wort and water well, then pour into your fermenter. Top up with cold quality brewing water to 20L for approx. 4.5% ABV. Add 1kg Brick Road DME. It doesn't matter if there are some clumps of DME, these will dissolve over time. Add the dry enzyme. Vigorously stir the wort with a large spoon to oxygenate it. Ensure the wort temperature is 12℃-20℃. Sprinkle the yeast over the wort.

Seal the fermenter lid and insert airlock. Ideally ferment at 12℃-15℃ for 10 - 14 days.

After 10 days, check the gravity. If the SG remains steady for three days, fermentation is complete. If in doubt, leave a few more days for better results. Keg or bottle your brew.

This Classic Gold Draught kit comes complete with Ale yeast. This light-gold refreshing draught ale has a nice grainy malt sweetness balanced with a moderate thirst quenching bitterness. Great after a hot day.
For a Gold Draught add either 1.5kg Brick Road Extra Light malt extract, or 1kg Brick Road Extra Light Dry malt extract or 1kg dextrose. For added tropical or citrus flavour, you can add 30g of NZ hops like Riwaka or Nelson Sauvin.

Clean and sanitise fermenter, spoon, cup and jug.

Soften the malt cans in hot water for about 5 minutes.

Pour 2 litres of boiling water into your 5L jug. Open the cans and pour the contents into the jug, along with the 300g of lactose.

Mix the concentrated wort and water well, then pour into your fermenter. Top up to 21 litres with cold quality brewing water. Ensure the wort temperature is 18℃-22℃. Vigorously stir the wort with a large spoon to oxygenate it. Sprinkle the yeast over the wort.

Seal the fermenter lid and insert airlock. Ferment at 18℃-22℃ for four days.

On Day 4, put half of each of the hops into a sanitised hop sock or tube, tied with non-scented dental floss. Gently sink the hops into the beer.

On Day 7, remove the first dry hop and add the remaining hops as above.

Check the gravity. If the SG remains steady for three days, fermentation is complete. Keg or bottle your brew.
This top Australia craft beer is famous for its floral, tropical flavours and juicy, hazy appearance. Brick Road Hazy Pale Ale malt with wheat is already hopped to the perfect level. Just add 1.5kg of Muntons Oat malt and 300g lactose to bring the creaminess and some amazing hops. Use the yeast under the lid, or add an extra packet of fruity English Ale yeast. Dry hop with Centennial, Falconers Flight, Mosaic and Citra for those amazing flavours. Fruity deliciousness!

This Classic Hazy Pale Ale kit comes complete with a hazy ale yeast. This juicy, Hazy Pale Ale is made with fresh white wheat and ale malts to give that haze.
For a Hazy Pale Ale add 1.5kg Brick Road Extra Light malt extract, or Muntons 1.5kg Oat Malt Extract. For a lighter Pale Ale add 1kg Brick Road Extra Light Dry malt extract (OR 1kg dextrose). For the citrus, tropical, juicy, fruit aromas of a Hazy Pale Ale, add at least 60g (up to 200g) of hops like Cascade, Citra, Galaxy, Riwaka, Nelson Sauvin or Motueka.
