Unit price / perThis Classic Lager is a New Zealand icon. If you're a supporter of NZ sport - you'll love this clean, bitter lager. Two cans of Brick Road Dry Lager malt are hopped to the perfect level, and with the addition of Green Bullet hops you will recognise its distinctive taste. Use the yeast under the lid, or if you can control the fermentation temperature at 12℃-18℃ add a packet of W-34/70, or if you can control the fermentation temperature at 12℃-20℃ add a packet of NovaLager to get the clean crisp flavour of a premium lager.
This kit includes:
- 1.5kg Brick Road Dry Lager
- 1.5 kg Brick Road Hopped Light Malt
- 30g of either Green Bullet or Motueka hops
Optional Extra's
- SafLager W-34/70
- Lallemand NovaLager
Instructions

Clean and sanitise fermenter, spoon, cup and jug.

Soften the malt cans in hot water for about 5 minutes.

Pour 2 litres of boiling water into your 5L jug. Open the cans and pour the contents into the jug.

Mix the concentrated wort and water well before adding the Green Bullet or Motueka hops. Leave the hops to steep for 10 minutes and then pour into your fermenter. Top up with cold quality brewing water to 20L for approx. 5% ABV. Ensure the wort temperature is 12℃ - 22℃. Vigorously stir the wort with a large spoon to oxygenate it. Sprinkle the yeast over the wort.

Seal the fermenter lid and insert airlock. Ideally ferment at 12℃-15℃ for 10 - 14 days.

After 10 days, check the gravity. If the SG remains steady for three days, fermentation is complete. If in doubt, leave a few more days for better results. Keg or bottle your brew.

Brick Road Classic Kits
Brick Road Classic beer kits are designed specifically for New Zealand and Australian brewers. Under the lid of each Classic kit is a specific yeast to suit the style of beer and detailed brewing instructions. On the can there are recipe options, alcohol options, dry hop suggestions and alternate yeast options.
Beer is ok, easy drinking and nice flavour. However it's not a steinlager clone. I feel like it needs a dry hop edition or maybe different hops.
