What is EPDM?
EPDM = Ethylene Propylene Rubber which has excellent chemical resistance including being compatible with ozone, oils, a wide variety of alkaline and acid compounds, water, alcohol, ketone, and beverages.

The BlowTie Diaphram Spunding Valve - a great tool if you want to control the pressure retained in a pressure vessel that is releasing pressure. It has been designed for simplicity and ease of putting together. Many brewers use this spunding valve in combination with the FermZilla pressure rated fermenters.

This is the new "BlowTie 2" upgarded model which has the integrated pressure gauge. The adjustment knob on the top of the unit makes it easy to increase and decrease the set pressure. This BlowTie unit can be easily disassembled for cleaning using a screw driver. Designed to suit 8mm (5/16") tubing. It's compatible with both the 4mm ID Tubing or 5mm ID.

This compact solution for adjusting residual pressure in your fermenter makes pressure control easier than it's ever been. This can be used for compressed air, CO2, nitrogen, mains water supply and many other things but its primary use is to control the residual pressure inside fermenters.

Pressure Fermentations
With the popularity of pressurised fermentation it has become increasingly important to have a method of regulating and controlling this residual pressure from the fermentation process. The BlowTie has been designed specifically for this reason.

Pressure Transfers
When transferring from keg to keg, keg to bottle, or fermenter to keg it is often a good idea to have head pressure in the keg you are filling into especially if you are transferring a beverage that is carbonated. For this reason the BlowTie can consistently control this head pressure giving you more consistent results and without losing carbonation in the process.

Traditional spunding valves that use a simple spring against a seal are flawed right from the beginning as the physical aspects of the design dictate that you will have a significant difference between the opening pressure and closing pressure during operation. Brewers have tolerated this imperfection for long enough and now you can control these pressures far more accurately.

The BlowTie has been made completely differently taking advantage of a diaphragm to actuate the sealing mechanism that will release pressure from the pressure vessel with much more accurate control pressure.

Instructions:
Use the yellow adjustment knob to control the pressure coming out of the pressure vessel. Clockwise is higher pressure and anticlockwise is lower pressure. We would recommend gassing a keg to a known pressure e.g. 15psi then attach your BlowTie Kit to the keg and adjust to 10psi.

These gauges are accurate to about 10% of the range of the pressure gauge. So if you use the lowest range possible it will ensure the best possible accuracy.

IMPORTANT WARNING: Do not exceed gauge pressure. If you set a gauge pressure higher than the graduations on the gauge you can damage the gauge. (ie if you are using the 0-60psi gauge. Do not set pressure above 60psi or damage to the gauge may occur.)

This rigid 50mm long joiner is made from strong polypropylene. It's useful to make rigid joins with push in fittings that are dead straight. Although it's possible to make joins using short pieces of 8mm OD Evabarrier 5mm Beer Line this is far more flexible and when mounting parts to a gas board or wall its will often make things much neater if you use these instead.

The 50mm length is long enough so even after pushing right into two duotight 8mm fittings on both ends you should still have a exposed length of about 3mm so you can still relatively easily take the fittings apart later.

How frustrating is hops getting blocked in your poppet, tap, ball valves and practically everywhere else. This handy little filter can be used on your silicone floating dip tubes to prevent hops or other solids getting sucked into the dip tube itself. The 304 stainless 80 mesh is fine enough to filter out hops and many other solids but not so fine that it gets blocked up easily. This Hop Tube is made from 304 stainless steel and is ideal for addling larger amounts of hop pellets, flowers or spices to your RoboBrew / BrewZilla without blocking the pump. It can also be used in your Brewhouse Kettle/Boiler, 19L corny keg, and the FermZilla.

It cannot fit in a standard 50L Keg as the opening is not wide enough. The fine mesh will prevent large particles from blocking the dip tube, pumps or chillers. It will hold approximately 150g of hop pellets, allowing for some space to permit full extraction of the hop oils. Ideal for dry hopping in the keg and can also be used for fruits, wood chips, spices and more. Includes a small ring so it can be hung from the keg lid or side of the vessel.
